Concept

As a well-established and family favourite Christmas tree farm in Oxfordshire, The Tree Barn approached us for support with their marketing in 2020, in light of the global pandemic. With the shop stocking thousands of unique and fun festive decorations and the barn storing an incredible variety of home-grown Christmas trees, we knew that with some creative marketing, the business could grow even further and navigate the restrictions with an improved digital presence.

Journey

As Christmas tree growers and festive shop owners, advance planning for seasonal marketing campaigns is key to success. As part of their social media strategy, we implemented different campaigns at different stages of the year with specific aims in mind, from fun and engaging through to informative and insightful. A key aim here was to create consumer excitement for the festive season and provide some sneak peaks into what their shop offers, but even during The Tree Barn’s off-season, it’s important for the business to maintain a consistent presence on social media to develop consumer trust and brand awareness. Brand storytelling is at the heart of what we do, to give social media users an insight into life on the farm, share interesting facts about Christmas tree growing and offer their expertise!

Result

Despite the pandemic causing some uncertainty around the festive season, The Tree Barn had their best year on record for tree sales in 2020 and increased their social presence by 44%. Using only organic posts, their social media engagement and reach increased (tree)mendously! Deearo Marketing also provide The Tree Barn with artwork and print marketing support, including flyers and signage for their premises, to maximise on brand consistency and keep the magic of Christmas alive!
